What do I need next?

1. Room to Share Template(phong cho thue)
Template is exactly like that of House for Rent.
Only one minor change: Remove “House for Rent” banner and replace with “Room for Share” banner. Since you have received a Photoshop file (with font) from us, you can ask Trang to change.

So create this Template for me and put it on the Web

1. I really like the way you implement the web page when the user khong co dien REFERENCES, thi chau create final product khong co section REFERENCES.

2a. The finished product should say ” Description of the property” (chi tiet ve nha) even though the original template says “Describe your property” (ta nha cua ban). the 2 texts are different.

2b. Cai hinh ben sidebar co the replace by a color box ( BLUE) , size as big as the default word San Jose, Ca (now, the photo is smaller than the default word).
Color BOX is more generic than a photo. User looks at photo and think that this house has a big garden.

Final product will have the blue Box with the word LOCATION inside and the City name underneath it (like what you have now. When user sees the box, he knows that this is the location box

2c. Chu muon sua lai default text tren sidebar:
“Address, City, State”

3. Chau work voi Tam ve phan Map link. Neu nguoi chu nha viet ro ra dia chi (address, city, state) thi Google se ve ban do co Red Balloon khi click vao Gmap link, ban khongchi ve ban do ma thoi. This is why we encourage the owner to fill out the full address.

The TEMPLATE “House For Rent” will become the example for many other templates inside the CLASSIFIED category.

It is important that we create a nice layout that we can use for other templates

a) Ask Trang to come up with 3 more BS (Banner Signs) besides House for Rent so that user can choose.

The BS for this category has a different size than Obituary or Store shops because thay are only letters.
So please use the size of “House for Rent”

b) Ask Trang to come up with graphics for

number of bedrooms 2,3,4,5 (same color, different number inside the box)
number of bathroms 1,2,3

Align these graphics on 1 line instead of putting them as a Square in my demo

These are the results of my test:

a) When I load photos of:

JPEG, 640x480 and 115K bytes

WORK

The system works well including after SUBMIT. The loading is fast because of the small 100K size

b) After that I test photos of:

JPEG, 800 x 600, 250K bytes

WORK

The system works at a slower speed (expected because the file is twice as big)

c) After that I test photos of:

JPEG, 1024 x 768, 280K bytes

WORK

The system works at a slower speed (expected because the file is big)

The conclusion is that as long as the size is in the 200KB it does not matter what the original diemnsions are:

640x480 to 1024x768

However when I load size of 2MB, the system does not like it. So for now, we do not worry too much about big sizes. I will continue to look for install software that will do the conversion from Megabytes of data to Kilobytes of data

at the small photo size (100K to 250K) the application works very well becaus eof the fast upload time.
Anything above 1M-2M, the application times out because the photo is 10x bigger.

So it seems that we need to resize all photos to 100K-250K first before we apply them to your upload application.

We are looking for a RESIZING application. In the past (2001), Sang Tao has looked at a package called Image Magick which has many good utilities (on the fly resizing)

With the right utility from the Image Magick collection of graphics tools, you can automatically resize all photos to 640 x 480 first before you use them to upload to the boxes.

I hope this will help.

For now, just continue the application assuming that the photos will be small. I consider that to be well done. When you have time, study IMagick

Most digital cameras allow the user to take photos in these sizes (in pixels)

640 x 480
1600 x 1200 (most popular size)
2048 x 1536
2592 x 1944

It is the ratio between the width and height which is important when resizing

You can see that it is almost 4:3 ratio

So if you do not want the photo to stretch, when you design the BOX,

always make the BOX 4:3

width of box is 4
height of box is 3.

It will work all the times.

I have this idea that I would like for you to try.

So far we have use AJAX to “Dynamically” change photo and text very well such as in CP and PU. The photos are always stored on OUR server.

I would like

A. to allow USER to load Photos from their HARD DRIVE in an AJAX environment, meaning that the Web page does not get refreshed when the photo is loaded.

B. The Photo is RESIZED to fit exactly inside a BOX that we design. We choose the layout of the Boxes
